Preventing Breakage and promoting growth

Preventing breakage and promoting growth is always a lot to handle when it come to natural hair. Throughout my natural experience these are the things that I have found contributes to the growing and breakage free hair.
1. Protective Hair Styles
Stylings like two strand twists, coil, braids, cornrows etc. are all protective styles. These stylings protect hair, and allows it to stay easily moisturized. These styles also relieve the day-to-day strain that is put on hair, particularly from over-processing.
2. Avoid Excessive Heat
Some heat is ok, but putting excessive heat to your hair can be detrimental. It could lead to breakage, and over drying of your hair
3. Sulfates and Mineral Oils ARE ok!!!
Contrary to what you hear mineral oils and sulfate based shampoos are ok!!! Sulfate shampoos really cleans a dirty scalp, and mineral oils really coats the hair giving a protective barrier. Thank you Natural Chica!
4. Always have you a leave in conditioner
It is always a good idea to ALWAYS have your hair conditioned. May it be with a good leave-in-conditioner or a good oil moisturizer, constantly putting product in your hair will leave your hair soft, manageable, and breakage free.
5. Avoid over washing
Contrary to what people think, I have found that shampoos are made to strip you hair of dirt, grime, and also if its natural oils. Over washing could leave washing your hair could leave your hair dried and full of breakage.
6. Co-washing is you friend
Co-washing simply means only washing with conditioner. I recommend any type of organic conditioner. Co-washing once a week leaving your evenly conditioned and greatly maintained.
*remember when dying your hair use a 100% cotton cloth(like a t-shirt). Do not use a a dry towel because it could mess up your curl pattern!
7. Deep Condition
Just because you wash and condition your hair using leave-in-conditioners, and other hair products it is always a good idea to deep condition-atleast once a month!
